Red:
Round relics of your inner plummet Trail wet rivers down your cheeks To pool in the depths Of darkness hidden Behind round, ruby lips.
Orange: Even for a lack of rhyme, The color lacks nothing more Than a cover of drab. But who would want such dingy, Vapid casing To such a vibrant hue?
Yellow: As warming as the sun, It tickles at my skin. “Go away!” I shout— Mentally of course— As I shoo away the feeling Of sluggish, scorching, sizzling Rays of pure delight.
Green: The Earth, the Earth! Such grounded Earth, With roots and centers and support. The grass parts for feet and fingers But remains to catch my fall; From high or low, Its hands are as soft and molding As the clay it carries.
Blue: “The oceans of emotions,” They mutter with frizzled hair And thickened glasses; Reflected stars Tell our futures to the cloud-dappled sky As the rain dimples The waters surface And leaves footprints on our futures.
Purple: Elegance, mayhap, In the form of that eye-catching dress, Stroking the ballroom floor in great streaks That match the strength of your Confident, imperious, and graceful steps. The floor is yours In a dazzling display of status.
Pink: The girls swoon And giggle At the charming gestures of that prince, Ever in cutting suits and silver shells, As he dazzles the men of the court, Never allowing his grin to falter. The female eyes that follow him Spread painted fingers Over delicate, dissembling Flowers of carnation-colored cloths. © 2008 Kiwi |
