WIPED OUT

WIPED OUT

A Poem by Nakul J Menon
"

Humans are destroying the planet at an unprecedented rate. Deforestation, filling the seas with plastic, overpopulation, etc. has a drastic impact on the earth.

"
WIPED OUT

Gleaming are the trees that make a forest majestic,
From North to South from East to West,
Shadows of the green abide Wherever you rest,
But Lo! the truth behold,
Superior intellect exploits it for a furniture fest.

Something as big as the ocean, though death floats everywhere,
For the seas are covered in poison,
For the life dearing fish to bear.
The ocean becomes dark and the clouds are  cold as Black,
These signs that calamities will Have revenge for the back stab.

The tubes so deep covered in fire,
Erupts all mighty destroying everything dear.
The liquid comes out burning as Lava.
As the mountains grin with a the cunning smile,
Saying it was time to take what was once mine.

You push, You exploit, You burn what keeps you alive,
and one day earth will be WIPED clean,
for the new species to arise.
