No son, My father

No son, My father

A Poem by Nakagawa
"

My logical thought versus his stubborn attitude, never mixed.

"

“You’re not my son anymore.”

Sitting beside you

Watching you go through

Keep telling yourself

These arguments will die soon

The volume increases

The tension unleashes

Your safe silence gives in

And it’s the one thing that ceases

You see, they won’t stop

Back then I was too young to stand up

Father what did you have to say

When mother took sis and me away

At least you got it across to me

That you were trying to corrupt me

With your back turned away

Kneeling down before the court

System, I pray

Please let me find a way to correct

Our everyday mistake,

What can I do to get it across

To you.

What is there to do when

I can’t get a word out of you

Father, what am I?

Am I dead to you?
