Gone are the days

GONE ARE THE DAYS

For too long my eyes have waited for you glance,

For too long I have waited to meet,

For too long I remembered the words to tell you,

For too long I have dwelt in memories.

If only I saw you, I would say,

If only we could meet,

If only we had some time,

If only we could stay.

I have regretted,

I have missed, 

I have sinked deep,

I have weeped.

Now I don't wish I had you,

Now I don't want to repeat,

Now I don't want to think about,

Now I don't want to grieve.

Now for too long I have loved,

If only you cared,

Now I don't want you,

Let my life be unrepaired.

With you being away, 

I have learnt; I have grown,

Grateful to all those 

Who held me while you were gone.

You gave me birth

And left me for others to bear. 

I do not love you,

It is the relation I love,

I do not want you,

Gone are those days.

I needed to read this twice to figure out why another of your reviewers called this a poem about mother. Now I see it: "you gave me birth" . . . but this is the only line that makes this a poem about mother. Other than that one line, this poem could be about anyone really. You write of deeply-felt feelings expressed in a repetitive way, from stanza to stanza. I get the feeling this is your writing style, so I see how you use this for emphasis . . . but I have to say I'm not a big fan of repetition. When there is constant repetition in a poem, it starts to be a distraction for me. But you do express yourself very well & I'd love to see you mix it up more (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

A very muted side of the relation and emotion has been penned with so many moments. and its those lines that strikingly reveal them. The write definitely displays how life goes with both good and bad phases. and when you have your light with you. then murk becomes just a mere word. and this is what the piece showed. Great work!
