Rain- we meet again

Other than tears, I like raindrops on my face

RAIN-WE MEET AGAIN 

The slant rays pour down from the sky,

They come every season and meet again. 

I remain still the same, 

I cry along the falling rain. 

Aiming at the sky

To see the rain descend.

I am lying at the ground, 

I feel so burdened.

Not a sign of turmoil, 

Everything at peace, 

But what about me? 

When will I receive?

The elixir is enchanting, 

My heart it heals,

It comforts my soul within,

Every bit in me feels dripped.

I breathe in the essence, 

Restlessness fades away. 

Other than my tears, 

I like raindrops on my face.

I look up the sky, 

And open my arms to embrace it. 

It makes me forget my sorrows for some time,

I feel alive to greet it. 

Rain never fails to charm me,

It surrounds me within.

It fills my heart with happiness, 

It is my faithful friend indeed.

The love and joy from it I receive,

The fragrance hold me its captive, 

It arrives to see me suffering, 

To hear my woeful songs,

It is rain who has been with me all along.

I love rain, but we rarely get it here anymore in the past ten years. Your poem is so tantalizing, I want rain more than ever now. I envy your monsoons, which sound like a huge relief after the summer heat. I love the way your poem starts out kinda petulant, saying: what’s in it for me? Then the rain gradually caresses away this childish pout & the narrator begins to feel the splendor inside too.
