Life without you

Life without you

A Poem by Najam Us Saher

LIFE WITHOUT YOU
You were gone leaving my heart wrenched,
My childhood with you I could not sketch.
My little hands couldn't stop you from leaving,
You are gone mother, still I feel I am dreaming,
My innocent face you ignored and went away,
Why did you leave me?
I know you wanted to stay.
My tears were easily ignored by you,
You don't know how I am living without you,
I wish I had a perfect childhood,
But my life was filled with tragedies,
I want to bring you back,
But I cannot,
You wanted me,
Don't tell me you did not.
Was there any sign of sadness when you left,
Or were you happy?
I am so restless to see you mother,
Feels like being your daughter is a tragedy.
What was my fault for which I lost you?
Couldn't this life be renewed?
You gave me this life mother,
But without you in this pain I wither.
Everytime when I look in the mirror,
My reflection looks like it's you,
And when my hand reaches to touch,
I realise you are not here,
Happiness for everyone you are,
But you are my tear,
Everyone is so close to their mothers,
But you are not here.

This brought tears in my eyes, I can imagine a life without mother and that eager to renew the life, most of us don't look after our parents sometimes I deny them too, but the lesson this poem taught me I will never forgive, poem taught me which no one did in all these years. I feel sorry for those who don't have mother

My mother dies when I was 2 years old and I do not know the feeling of this. It is so buried down under my unconscious thought bringing forth the memories of childhood I cannot reach. I believe this is an emotional poem as it touches readers hearts with no needs of actual experience but a poet's soul. Thank you for sharing.

You are welcome, dont ever think you dont have your mother, ok, ....enjoy, go on with your life...:)
My sister adopted a child from South Korea years ago.
He had been abused, had cigarette burns etc. on his body. He asks these same questions all of these years later. We cannot go backward we must go forward. Valentine

Wow, I can feel the pain almost first hand in this poem. Full of deep meaning and paints a picture easily understood. Whether this is personal or not, just remember to not let other's past define who you are no matter the pain or hurt you feel. You are an individual.
