Petrichor

Petrichor

A Poem by Najam Us Saher
"

You are never alone when you are surrounded by nature.

"
PETRICHOR
Green meadows and misty rain,
I wished I stayed there forever.
Everywhere greenery I see,
I found solace in that pleasant weather.
It made me happy from within,
The unforgettable fragrance of petrichor,
Oh! That earthly essence,
It made me lost in its presence.
It still makes me relieved,
Making me feel more pleasant.
Unforgettable are those sceneries,
I am living them in my memories,
Amazing was the experience,
To be surrounded by nature,
To be liberated from the glitches of pressure.

This poem reminded me of some of William Blake's poetry in his collection of works 'Innocence and Experience.' Have you ever read any of his work?
He wrote a lot about green as a colour, it seemed to be a shade that spoke of nature and the joyous occasion of being young.

With this in mind, these two lines are my favourite:
Green meadows and misty rain,
I wished I stayed there forever.

As always, thank you :)

No problem, my pleasure... N
Delightful dreamy and pleasant sent of nature after a long spell once the rain hits. And the countryside comes alive yet again.

Yes and that sight is worth to behold.
Thank you very much.
To tell you the truth, I felt too lazy to google your title word, so I was happy that your poem showed me what Petrichor is like . . . good way to paint your scene with vivid imagery. We don't have much green here becuz we've been in a drought for 10 years, but I remember how refreshing it is to be surrounded by green. Despite my hills being brown, I feel exactly these things, living near a wilderness (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Awesome imagery. I like how the words are taking me. Maybe just a little revision for the sake of rhyme scheme. All in all, well done!

I agree with your words, as a traveller i can say nature is a treasure if one starts finding the pleasure in it, never stops.....
