Part 4

Part 4

A Chapter by BrianaW

The day you told me you loved me
I felt cold
- You felt cold
- We were cold
- The night was cold
We sat in the back of your truck under the stars bundled up hugging each other
And I was speechless
I mean, had I heard you wrong?
Were you on the phone?
I looked you in the eye and mumbled something like:
"yeah . . ."
It was the only time you said you loved me
But you didn't love me.
You loved the thought of me
The thought of my legs spreading for you
Blooming open and praising the sun like a springtime marigold
