Ignorant Son

Ignorant Son

A Poem by Nahian Bin Asadullah

Sacrifice is no good
It does not pay me
back.

I sacrificed my
life for
my son and
got
What I deserved.

I was insulted,
thrown
out and
garbage d.

Did it matter to
him?
I do not know,
But I do not want
him
to be
penalized.

He is ignorant
May God enlighten
him
to realize
what he has
done?

How can I
curse him?
in the end of
the day
I am his father!!

How can a father be
so harsh to
his son?

Father figures
are kind
instead.

They take care
of us
like
gardeners do
for
gardens.

They don't let
us feel
helpless but why
do we
forget their
greatness?

Why do we leave
'em
when they need
our company
the most?

Why do we
humiliate 'em
as opposed
to
they never make
us feel
humiliated?

What we do to our
fathers will indeed
come back to
us because we
know that
what goes around
comes back around.
