Laughing at Myself, Screaming at You

Laughing at Myself, Screaming at You

A Poem by Vague

Misanthropes like to say…

Well they like to say that Hell is other people.

A millennium of torture, brimstone and burning souls, if you can believe it;

All condensed into filthy, oily, water-filled wedges of flesh.

Well you see…I’m something of a Misanthrope, myself;

-Yeah, that’s right.-

And I say:

The only person worthy of such a grandiose, melodramatic, and over-the-top distinction;

Carries the potential for Heaven on Earth-

-for you; Now…

If only you weren’t such a damned coward.

Very intelligent write, creative and has a humorous perspective. The use of the trilogy of adjectives was fitting and I dig the title.

About
I just thought I'd try letting other people besides close friends read my poems. I think from what I've seen so far I can expect constructive responses. Some of the longer ones are old and not reall.. more..
