Friday NightsA Poem by Nikki_PorcelainDollPerforming takes talent.Friday Nights The coils in my stomach Start to tighten And the butterflies Start to flutter “Good luck” I hear someone mutter. I walk out onto the field As I hear them say my name My smiles perfectly in place Excitement can be seen on my face I start to spin and sway With the music they play You all clap and cheer And away, you wash my fear Adrenaline flows through my veins The routine memorized perfectly In our brains Toss, catch, turn! One of the hardest moves to learn Into my mind, your looks of amazement, I want to burn. We’re now nearing the end Last toss up, my flag begins to descend I let the motions flow As we go into the end of the show The crowed hollars and screams And off walks me and my team The adrenaline rush, taking us to new heights You gotta love Friday nights. © 2010 Nikki_PorcelainDollAuthor's Note
