This Exasperating Happiness

This Exasperating Happiness

A Poem by Natasha
"

Fine, I admit it. Are you happy now?

"

O dearest vain one,

Of ages within this skin
                        This elaborate mask
                        This sinful grin

I’ve come to realize that I am who I’m not
Which is I am from where I’ve not accepted
Or perhaps that I have seen what is not to be there
Then again I am what I used to be from now on

This confusion is me
My skin
My elaborate mask
My sinful grin

Whatever
Alright
Of course
So...

I wish to write you a love story
A Nick and Norah project
With Beatles inspired rhythms
Flowing into Beach Boys’ magic

You know, that Prestige mystery
In manga form
Only having the animation from anime
That kind of silly thing

But I'll do this instead
Write you a cheesy song
That will try to pass along
That we really belong
Together

With these horrible rhymes
And these terrible lines
You’ll see all the times
That I’ve built these mines
Of love

So bear with me
Because, you see
I really love thee
More than...history?

This is so tragical
It’s practically magical
With its splendid vernacular
And romance so romantical

The Summary
Of this monstrous...crap
Is really quite simple:
You are such an unbelievable a*s!

Hugs, kisses and many beatings to come,
Kitten

i'm glad i discovered your writing. this one made me laugh. the forced rhymes in the cheesy song section were great. you could be a rap artist with your ability to make bad rhymes. the rest of the poem was alternately brilliant and funny. sometimes both simultaneously. i don't know who inspired this, but this is quite a tribute to an a*s.

I absolutely love this stanza:
I've come to realize that I am who I'm not
Which is I am from where I've not accepted
Or perhaps that I have seen what is not to be there
Then again I am what I used to be from now on

It nearly sums up all of our obscure or otherwise incredibly ambiguous conversations and emotions and such...
The allusions were all cleverly used, and this is a poem I think only I could truly appreciate because of who it's written about ;p.
I really do underestimate some of those feelings you have...

You know who this reminds me of?
I think you do.
The person who its about, most likely.
But I like it.
It makes me chuckle softly.
WONDERFULLLLL. :D
