Damsel, DistressedA Poem by Poeta {NV Torres}Dedicated to someone...I never claimed that I could save you. I think… All I really want to do is hold you I will save you once you save me; This numbing sensation in the heart On the edge of being devoured by a true fire-breathing dragon who calls himself Life. Rescue me from the system of these things From the blankets of layered cynicism, One over another, smothering me Head to toe Every blue moon, I escape and call for Him in the gloom, sweet song of deliverance But no answer. I throw a bone, sometimes two, lovely ones But He does not bite. Perhaps now it is too late and He has found refuge in the bed of another He found his One After all, Who can resist when she has stars in her eyes. Still, He never tries. I just keep expecting Him to as I cling on the tongue of Life. © 2008 Poeta {NV Torres}Reviews
