I run

I run

A Poem by Nathan Spark
"

On many levels

"
I run ...
When I find a routine
From groups who define things and themselves by what’s always been done
There’s nothing for me to add
If plans have been made and work’s begun
When action means not learning
From myopia and single-mindedness
If a problem can’t be fixed
When no one needs help
Inefficiency wins

I run a lot

I like the use of run both literal and as a metaphor for change!Well done!

Running helps. I'm coming up for forty years of it now and still going strong. It hasn't kept me sane but I might be more insane! You poem is a very clever observation of how we need an escape from the everyday. Of course running itself is a compulsive activity but we'll leave that for now.

Alan

I like the spare, to the point delivery here. The philosophy is good, too. Too often, both individuals and groups get bogged down in the way it's always been done. If you're not learning, you're dying. Well done.
