I want to be seen

I've heard writing shows who you really are,

How age and gender can't be told,

But I want people to see gender in writing,

I just don't want it to matter.

What would they see when I write?

What can they decipher from my scrawls?

Would they see my hardened look?

Or would they see my bleeding heart?

Would they notice my hidden breasts?

Or would they know I'm really a boy?

I want my gender to be seen,

I just don't want it to matter.

I never met anyone transgender but I imagine this is how they feel.
