A lamp in the dark

A lamp in the dark

A Poem by N.Sevilla
"

It was late. And the lamp was there.

"
There's something comforting of a lamp in the dark.
The shadows, more pronounced, clearly leave their mark.
And the soft glows becomes a rare safe haven
From the night descending: a fallen raven.
With this glow I can write about it all,
Love, life, stories true or tall.
But I choose to write about a single lamp,
My burning little fire when the world is damp.

Wow. This has an amazing rhythm and the words inspire deep thought.

"And the soft glows becomes a rare safe haven
From the night descending: a fallen raven."

That is my fav line--just beautiful.

Metaphorical as it appears, in monochromatic hues. Nice write :)

Very old school in the feeling and words, almost has that late 1800's feel, like Jack London in a hotel room in San Francisco, writing.

I liked this, had a nice warm honesty to it.
