Lullaby to Bring Him Home

Lullaby to Bring Him Home

A Poem by N.Sevilla

Hush, hush, little one,
Keep your cries at whispers.
Look at Papa, big and strong,
He keeps his cries at whispers.
Papa loves music,
I sang him to me.
Papa loved our music
When we became three.
Now Papa sings his own song
On the battlefield where he roams.
Bullets sang his goodbye
And their silence calls him home.

Author's Note

N.Sevilla
When I wrote this I was imagining a mother singing this to her child while the father was off at war. I never really wrote anything like this before, so your thoughts would be nice. It's short, but I'm not sure if I should make it longer.
