This is what equality looks likeA Poem by N.SevillaMy experience at Orange County Pride was really something.
Under the rainbow of lights,
We danced in the night, Our skins painted by the sound of music. We sat on the stairs Without worry or care, Just bobbing our heads along. I pointed to the crowd, So joyous and loud, And said, "Look at the rainbow we've made. There are whites and blacks. There's no race we lack. Yet they all dance together as one. Those on wheelchairs, they dance! The poor folks prance Right beside the bodies of the rich. The hatred we carry That we endlessly bury Is forgotten on a night like this. The young and the old, Without being told, Know that this is what equality looks like."
