I've Lost My ReflectionA Poem by N.Sevilla
In the dark I huddle close
Within night's tight embrace. I blow out the candlelight For a thicker wrap, in case. Eyes are open or they're closed, I still feel alone. Layers of suffocation cannot stop The winds that chill the bone. Who am I? I cannot see Any mirrors in the night. Can you find a kindred soul Without reflecting light? Darkness, Darkness, my dear friend, My beautiful delusion, Can you stop the demons there Or is your safety an illusion? There's no light to shine upon What is right or true. Are you now part of me Or am I part of you? Here's a surface cold and sharp, Cracks misshape its figure. An evil beauty close to me, Makes me feel meager. Darkness, Darkness, can you fix The broken mirror glass? It distorts my image To burning fields of grass. What happened to the little girl? Where's the precious lamb? Let the glass be smooth again To see me as I am.
