Pulled Back

Pulled Back

A Poem by N.Sevilla

Slowly sinking back into
The dark black abyss,
Where a crack of light
Is a momentary bliss.
My fingers dig into
The warm outside-earth,
But claws drag me back
To the place of my birth.
Sanity is leaking out,
Leaving me in confusion.
Everything is stirred together:
Reality and illusion.
My fingers grow colder
From my freezing heart
Which circulates frosted blood
To every still-warm part.
As I see no one comes
To pull me out,
My face turns weary
From a growing doubt.
My fingers, trembling,
Let go one by one.
Sinking below,
I say goodbye to the sun.

Wow. Moving symbolism for feelings I've known too well. Wonderful piece.

Strangely depressing and vivid. The imagery is wonderful.
