Blue is the Warmest ColorA Poem by N.SevillaPale blue lips Like those secret winter days When the frost on the windows Melted under my breath. I would wait for you, Wrapped up in faded quilts With our secrets stitched in, The colors fading in the winter Like the tree out front. You’d come, Greeting me with frozen lips- Pale blue lips, yet so warm Underneath the ice. They’d leave a trail of growing heat From lips to neck And back again. Yet, they always held A blue tinge. Which is why white is cold And blue is the warmest color. Even now, With your lips, pale blue, Not from the cold, But from the lack of heat. © 2014 N.SevillaAuthor's Note
