Mournful SongA Poem by N.SevillaA person cursed with a singing voice that can only convey sadnessI walked by a door that was slightly ajar I went on but did not get very far As I heard a voice enticing my ear Singing a wordless song, so sincere Yet what a morbid sound I heard To break my heart and have it stirred And to release my long forgotten woes In the wordless song she did compose I could hear from her tongue a single story The tale short and told in a hurry With held out notes and crescendos Banishing the lies and innuendos I am happy, is what she said But can only sing what sounds like dread I then understood her wordless pain Of her heart filled with sun but her voice pouring rain She was cursed with a voice that could only mourn Her first wails were of death on the day she was born. That much I could tell from beside the door Happy masked by sad and nothing more © 2013 N.SevillaAuthor's Note
