Dancing Alone

Dancing Alone

A Poem by N.S. Bennett

Pour the ink through my veins
All glittery black against the page
Those words I spilled for you, for you
I wrote my love on the stars in the deep blue

Now we're dancing all alone
In the center of the storm
Maybe I never knew
Maybe I never

Take my hand and smear the lines
I've been trying my best to stay inside
The colors run through and through
Stain my heart with the ghostly golden truth

Now we're all alone
Dancing through the storm

And you, spoke easy in the night
And you, made sure I never lost the light

Now we're dancing all alone
In the center of the storm
Maybe I never knew
Maybe I never
