My Best Friend

My Best Friend

A Poem by Jessica
"

I wrote this poem in the 9th grade and its bout my ol dog I had i was raised with and when he passed away R.I.P Bandit

"

As he lay there in the sun

Looked like he was sleeping

My dad yelled to my grandma and mother

I ran with them and he said "he's gone"

I ran toward the body crying

My grandma pulled me back and told me,

"Go to your room"

I ran to my room crying as

My dad took him on a trip,

He come back to my room, held me and we cried together

As I think of it now, I always say

"There will never be another like him, NEVER!"

He would protect me if I was scared,

He would listen to my stories and never ever tell

Now I have a new friend

But I will always remember my best friend

My dog Bandit
