City LifeA Poem by itsnotnaturalN/A
His daily commute
Crowds swarm They don't see Him trip and fall Full impact upon the shoulder He's dislocated it He doesn't say anything Uses one arm to shove the other back into place "Click" He continues on his way His eyes look amused When he sees another do the same thing And cries out in pain Nobody helps Someone trips him He falls again Breaks his nose He faces the person who trips him Pulls his own nose up and back Making sure they watch him "Snap" "Nice trick" the person says His destination lies On the other side of the street He J-walks Gets hit by a car It stops, he flies He lands with a thud People go to help him It is not needed He sits up His leg bent off to the side He pushes it back And "snap" like it never happened He breathes out and his ribs Are back in place Finally he stands Head off to the side Grabs a hold Jerking his head to the natural position And everyone hears the loud "crack" his neck makes He leaves to get where he needs to go Everyone else wanders off And the driver continues on his way In his office He emails "destroy them" and leaves Down the stairs he slips Falling down one after another He breaks And lies forgotten In the corner of the city's mind © 2016 itsnotnatural |
