Homeward Bound

Homeward Bound

A Poem by NJ Schneider
"

the title makes me think of the 90's movie with the talking animals.

"

Black crows swirling overhead

Every visible tree is bare and dead

Mindless chatter cut out by musical sound

As the bus rumbles on homeward bound

With muscial sound

The moon and sun share the sky

As the sun sets and says goodbye

Cramped and warm in a tiny space

Clouds come in to cover heaven's face

Patience is found

Familiar signs point the way home

Can't decided whether it's better to roam

Only memories keep me here

With a conscious that isn't quite clear

We're over the mound

Watched silently by blue eyes

Ears now filled with muscial sighs

Tolerance is sinking beyond repair

Such ignorance is hard to bare

And homeward bound

I was sitting on the school bus coming home from MacWorld. You know, MacWorld is only really made for people who have a hard on for technology. I like technoloy, but half the crap those people said was waaaay over my head.

Great piece. i like how in each of your pieces that i've read so far there is one thing that makes them stand out from others. the originality of some of your stuff is what keeps me coming back to read more. Great job.

Wonderfully written poem. The descriptions fit those bus rides quite well.

I saw the movie (not that I'm proud of that)! Your interplay of lines and passages is simply perfect, and your words flow like music. Very well done (and an absolute pleasure to read)!
