I'm 18 at last!

Wake up

In the cage still

Wings are cramped

Trapped against will

 

But wait

This day is mine

Broken are the chains

That once did bine

 

The cage is open

I'm now free to fly

It's time to grow up

Time to say goodbye

Today is my 18th birthday. I am now a legal adult! Woot!

Not as good as your others but still a good write. It was a bit short and unsatisfying for a poem with this concept. the freedom idea opens soo many doors that you can pretty much make anything out of it. You should try and extend this one a bit.
