My Dark Knight

My tribute to my favorite hero.

Watch the world

Through a child's eyes

He embodies darkness

But not its lies

 

Standing for goodness

When the good is tainted 

A shadow in the night

In the sky his logo is painted

 

He gives everything

With nothing in return

He's the hero we need

But not the hero we earn

 

When I should have fallen

He taught me to rise

To fly once again

Through his dark skies

 

He's always been the hero I needed

Constantly fighting for what's right

Since childhood I've loved him

He's always been...

Author's Note

Batman has been my hero since I was a small child. Playing with his action figures instead of the barbies I constantly got from my relatives. The way he's so dark but he has the best morals. How he'll never kill, or break his own rules. How he took such a great tragedy and vowed that he'd never let anyone feel that way, instead of turning down the crinimal path to make everyone feel what he has. His concept and his manner, are what make him the best super hero of all. And the greatest part: He's human.

Very nice. But, I thought that *I* was your hero. Lol.

I really had an affinity for Batman as well. He was totally classic. Have you seen the new movie, "Ironman?" that was really great. A nerdy, weapons design specialist also fighting evil in his spare time. There were some great action sequences in that movie!

Well written. I have not seen a tribute to a superhero, but I really liked it. Keep up the good work!

That was a good poem about Batman.

Everyone has to love Batman. He is a complex character if you think about it and his villians embody certain aspects of him if his morals faulter or change.

Wow, such an inspiring piece! I may be a Sweeney Todd kind of girl [lol], but what can I say? Batman has my utmost respect! You just gotta love him! He's such a classic, and he's cool because he's a dark hero with a magnificent heart and soul! You give an excellent description of him in your poem and your note. lol! Thanks for posting!

Out of the sixties came my Caped crusader that spoked lines like...to batpole, to the bat cave...Oh yes, that was my joy to watching batman. Although I liked my cat woman...lol, got to have a touch of bad.
