![]() No Cure For HeartbreakA Poem by NJ Schneider![]() Bleh.![]() The doctor turns, Needle in hand, I want to run, Yet here I stand.
My heart races, As she nears my arm, She smiles sweetly, Saying she'll cause me no harm.
She pinches my skin, I want to yelp in pain, But now I can't feel, When the needle hits my vein.
"All done." she says, So simple and clean. I smile and relax, Glad I hadn't made a scene.
"He should be gone from your heart." "Gone for good?" Her smiled faded slightly, "Well, he should."
I smiled and nodded, Then left the room. Little did I know, I'd be back there soon.
When I arrive home, I force myself to think of him, Testing the cure, But the result is grim.
I think of those light eyes, And my heart still aches, I start to cry, As my heart continues to break.
"She said it would work." I cry softly. "Why can't you just leave me alone!" I scream loudly.
I make a call to the doctor, To tell her it failed, I got her machine, And deeply inhaled.
There's no cure, To this horrid disease, And once again, I'm stuck in my hearts unease.
