A PERISHED LAUGHTER...

A PERISHED LAUGHTER...

A Poem by NEHA
"

dedicated to ADRIJA DI who passed out class 12 and left me alone....

"

I miss you, Adrija di!

The days we travelled together to school

Me by the window & you by me

With your 95 Kg mathematics & physics books

Though you ended up in gossips!

The dark chocolate & Chinese samosa

From “tea junction” back home...

I was on my diet

But I still ate them

Because you stuffed them into my mouth...

OR I couldn’t refuse you

Perhaps, I didn’t want to let go

Of that moment of togetherness!

The craziest & weirdest of selfies

With that QWERTY phone!

I was that diary

Who tolerated all your nonsense!

I was that napkin

Who wiped off all your sad stories...

&, perhaps

I was that person

Made for you!

How Quantum theory itched you...

& you cursed dead Einstein?!!!

Drenched with sweat & aching shoulders

With school bags weighing like boulders

We still celebrated

Every drop of our friendship!

Like even no lovers did with their love...

How you rolled in laughter

At couples smooching beside Victoria Memorial!

At times, this chirping

Turned into sombre elder-talks

When he didn’t attend you or

When he tried to put you down!

Mashed between books & expectations

I remember you frowning & growling

About losing all your hair

Until you stopped bothering them!!!

How could I forget

The dirty jokes, the *** videos &

Your detailed explanation of orgasm?!

How you mimed Mayuk sir

& how Apurba sir biased you?!

You moved like a zombie

& asked me if you had dark circles,

Or if you looked tired

Because you missed being said to calm down...

Two years- your class 11 & 12

& mime 9 & 10;

Passed away like a flying feather

Or that cold breeze which kissed & skipped

We waved “Good-Bye”....

Even when a “bye” is never that good!

Now, my turn to class 11

& yours to college

& career...

How fast is life, isn’t it?

You should ride a motorcycle. Life on a bike moves rather nice.

School definitely sets the tone for life.
It can make you or break you.
People you think will be there always, suddenly disappear one day.
Where did time go too?

You know Neha, sometimes I also feel how will life pass if my di is gonna go away from me?!!
No doubts she saved me from every suffocating and beside me on soothing situations. And I am also her diary like you!!
Maybe one day I'll burst into tears when she have to say that happy Good bye....
