Hallways

Hallways

A Poem by Nicholas

Here’s to you

To the hallways

To the schools

To the damned hell holes

To the prisons.

Why?

Because they draw us together

To the hallways

Where 1000 kids fight

To be on time

Where 200 conversations take place

At any given time

Where 100 friends are made and lost

 in a year

And you have to wonder,

Or I do,

What would we know,

Of each other I mean

If we weren’t here?

Where would we have been,

Had we never come?

Thanks hallways

For providing the silent ears

To 1000 conversations

Silent eyes

To watch over us,

And to laugh silently at our unheard jokes

And share our pain as the tragedies unfold

And laugh

Silently, so we can’t hear.
