Hidden Face

Hidden Face

A Poem by Nicholas
"

We all wear a mask. Who are we underneath?

"
I have a face,
Hidden behind a mask
all hours of the day
Beneath that mask lies a face
Of passion
Of strength
Of cowardice
Of rage,
Of love,
Of pain
Of fatigue,
A face long hidden
A face driven by fire
And burnt by the flames
Hidden.
Masked
Behind the mask a storm hides
from the rest of the world

A mask,
That is what they see
But if you look
Look through the windows,
the eyes,
see the whirling winds of rage,
The gathering waters of frustration
The rising tides of stress
That threaten to break
The dam of the mask.

Behind that mask…
Hides a face,
Lost so long its been forgotten
behind walls lie emotions
Pain
Suffering
Fatigue
Love
A face hidden,
Behind a mask.
