Il mio Angelo

Il mio Angelo

A Poem by Niamh Bernadette

"Il colpo di fulmine"
Or so that's what they call it from where you're from.
I however did not feel the lightning when I first met you.

No,

I felt the tempestuous winds of a thousands storms,
I felt the ferociousness of a herd of wild horses,
I felt the power of an earthquake beneath my trembling feet,
I felt my hearth explode into chaos as I gazed upon you per la prima volta.

All this, because you smiled.

Now my love,
Just as the sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening carrying with it the whispers of untold dreams.
So must you disappear.
You are my sunset.
And I fear that when you go, my world will be plunged into darkness, forever.
