You're the one

It's you...........

You’re the one whom I hate

Deep inside my mind stirs up a debate .

Is my hatred to you justified?

Or is it simply madness?

But there are reasons to cite,

So this abhorrence isn’t unreasonable.

 

I met you and with time fell for you

But in return nothing I gained.

I wasted time looking deeper into you,

For the satisfaction of my soul .

But what I realised was that ;

Being with you was a waste of time,

And energy and power.

 

I try hard to forget you,

Even while I am writing this poem.

I want to start a new life,

With a new spirit within .

As time passes by, I’m sure it’ll be a cakewalk,

As memories of you fade and become thin.

This poem is a reaction to my addiction with gadgets .
I got obsessed with them and this wasted my time .

Very good poem, very good. Like you say, addictions take up too much time and give ntohing in return. A good hobby has its rewards, like enjoying yourself.

I thought at first this was about a person but I think the result would be similar, being addicted to a person only results in pain and regrets.

Cool! I do agree with addiction of gadgets bringing about waste of time but when used wisely they can be your friends.

I try to monitor each day and think out the time that I spend each day on personal growth and with family. In that way gadgets helps me accomplish few tasks and saves time.

Knowing that you are a teenager, let me tell you that I am just a year younger to you... I liked reading the poem. The tiltle was different than the author's note that you display... I have a poem of the same title... Before I read the poem I felt like it would be about some person. After reading got to know what exactly was that... Nice flow of the poem...

Many things are addictive. Gadgets and games are certainly so. I'm no authority on the subject, but I find that if you open another door, so to speak, and do someting else (such as writing and posting poetry) it can divert you away from the thing that has been wasting your time. It still takes willpower though! A well-penned piece.
