Not a Father

Not a Father

A Poem by Mjr. Tom
"

This isn't based on my dad, not completely

"

Screaming fills his scarred mind

Imprinting his memories forever

Crying his mother yelps in pain

What can provoke such anger?

Blood flushed from her face

Swollen black-blue eyes

A unrecognizable face

The boy lies and cries

<Ten years later>

The screaming starts, the crashing begins

Tonight he dies

Blood red cheeks, fists clenched tight

Anger fueling his vengeance

Shouting like a rabid wolf

Charging his "father"

"Tonight you pay"

Thrown from wall to wall

Punched and smacked

He gets his tenfold

Lying on the floor cold

His father is dead

Mourning and rejoicing begins

We are free.

Wow, uh, I hope the "not completely" part you say in your description doesn't go so far as killing the father :)

I really don't know what to say, my family (not mother and father) was like this in some way as well, but I only heard about it from my parents, I could only imagine the pain and scars something like this leaves behind.

I'm hoping you are not emotionally scarred by something like this, but it happens, God bless the children who grow into such a family.

Oh my, I love itttt.!
I basically grew up with that. Maybe not as bad, but my father had anger issues and hit at times.
So I know the pain in this poem, other than the ten years later part.
I love this, a lot. Good job. (:
