But

But

A Poem by Nate
"

My life has always been a contradiction; wishing for the sun but only getting the rain... thank God that "my soul cried out"

"

Trying to run
BUT
Unable to hide.
Want to escape,
BUT
Trapped inside.
A fool I have been,
BUT
Unable to change.
Doomed to accept this,
BUT
It just feels so strange.
Life's passing me by,
BUT
I'm unable to check it.
A photographic memory is my blessing,
BUT
I so very much regret it.
I have so much love in my heart,
BUT
No one to receive it.
Don't want to accept this truth,
BUT
I'm cursed to believe it.
I can hope for better,
BUT
I'll be hoping in vain.
I can pretend, I can hope, I can practice and pray,
BUT
This is the way it always ends for me, and this is the way it will
stay...

BUT

This pulled me in right away. A very nice way to tell about your life and the contraditions it holds, like so many others. Sure ours might not be the same as yours, still all of ours lives contain a series of buts. Thanks for sharing.

I have been writing since I was about 10. I began writing to express the agony inside of me as I was a victim of child abuse and neglect. No one seemed to truly understand why I was the way I was an.. more..
