Attributes of a Broken Heart

Attributes of a Broken Heart

A Poem by Nate
"

Have you ever sat back an analyzed the pain of going through breakup? It's really rather beautiful in a broken hearted sort of way. . .

"

Crying yourself to sleep...
Weeping when you're awake...
Can't eat, can't think...
Teetering on insanity's brink...
Unsure of yourself - for your emotional state,
Playing that same sad song
Over and
Over until
The words resonate in your soul long after
the music has faded,
And years after this unbearable
Pain subsides...

Attributes of a broken heart

Unable to shake the cloud
That hovers over your head,
Night and day,
The cloud of despair-
Do they still care?

Attributes of a broken heart

Everyday you brood.
But comfortable with this mood...
As it is all you have
Energy for..
Going to the same places that you used to
Go to together..
And wondering, why you're there(?)

Dialing six of the seven numbers
Of a phone number
You know so very well...
Used to dial so very often...
Are barred from ever dialing
Again... ever again?

For some reason though, you're never
Able to dial the last number,
For fear that they'll answer...
For fear that they won't.

Attributes of a broken heart

Lying awake at night..
Holding your pillow tight...
Wishing they were lying
Next to you..
Wondering where they are...
What they're doing,
And do they
Think of you as often
As you think of them...

And if they do.. what is it
They're thinking of you?

Attributes of a broken heart

Holding they're pillow close
To your heart...
Angry with them for being
So distant...
Missing them with all of your
Soul..
Hurting...
Loving...
Missing...
Crying...
Tear stained face...
Feelings of hopelessness...
Despair...
Feeling you can't go on living...
Because you can't live without them...

Wishing...
Missing...
Reminiscing...

Attributes of a broken heart

eyes,
ears,
mouth,
heart,
hands...

I have been writing since I was about 10. I began writing to express the agony inside of me as I was a victim of child abuse and neglect. No one seemed to truly understand why I was the way I was an.. more..
