Prelude-

 

        In the beginning there was the sword, the sword of the wind, or so most called it.  It had been around since the first breath of dawn and would stay in this world until its final stand. It had been unknown to man, until recently…

 

       Today, humanity was suffering. There was no cure for the sickness; it came with the wind, flowed with the river, and nothing escaped alive.

 

       Nobody, except the evil sorceress who had summoned this deadly magic, knew how to end this plague. The sorceress is currently hiding behind her walls of shadow.

 

       Most of the Wizards of Old had died experimenting with the plague’s weak points. Only one Wizard has successfully found a possible cure. “The Sword will save us. By its blade, the sorceress will fall. I have seen it is so”, were his last words. He died shortly after discovering the sword’s existence. When he touched the blade, it claimed his blood.

 

       Unfortunately, because the blade had claimed the Wizard’s blood, the Wizard who had discovered the sword, only a blood-relative could use the sword. The Wizard never had any children.

 

       The Wizards located the nearest relative, who had died twenty years before. They opened the first time portal. The effort killed them all, but they succeeded in their task.
