Addicted

My heart jumped

When I saw him coming my way.

I couldn't breathe.

I thought I was going to die

When he wrapped his arms around me.

His touch, gentle.

My head felt as though it were spinning

When he gazed into my eyes.

He left his image burnt in my heart.

Tears stung my eyes

When he let go, even for that one moment.

His scent lingered.

My legs shook

In his absence.

He was all I could think about.

Tears streamed down my face

When he didn't return.

Still, I could feel him.

I turned the other way,

When I realized I must diverge.

And suddenly

I looked down to see an arm across my waist.

My hopes swelled.

My body shook with emotions

When I turned and faced him.

He gazed down at me with a gentle smile

And he kissed me.
