In My Head?!A Chapter by Xia MurphyI shan't give anything away just for you. So you'll just have to read it!
Xia looked at the window just as a huge yellow reptilian foot crashed down silently. Her mismatched eyes, one blue and one green, stared blankly at the giant yellow chameleon outside the library window. “Ayla, there’s a giant yellow chameleon outside.” The brunette said in a scary serious voice, which her older sister should have listened to. “There’s not a giant yellow chameleon outside.” The older woman sighed and rolled her eyes at the stupidity of the childlike teenager sitting at the opposite end of the long study table. “Yes there is, and it’s going to squish us flat if we don’t move.” That calmness in her voice began to freak Ayla out, but still the other woman did not look up from her Apple PC. “No its not, it’s just you.” “…” it was a couple more seconds before the teen spoke again, in the same cryptically creepy voice. “I’m going to step outside for a moment, feel free to join me if you can get out.” With that the girl left her computer and walked out the door closing it behind her with a click. Silence followed for a moment before the entire outside of the wall beside the woman came crashing in. Screaming she looked up at the huge yellow eye that was glaring down at her. Ayla threw up her computer and ran for the door, jerking it open she bashed against the still Xia outside. “A giant yellow chameleon is trying to eat me!” She screamed keeping an eye on said creature outside. “No its not, it’s not real.” Mismatched eyes gazed up at the large reptile. “The Hell it isn’t!” Ayla screamed pointing at the chameleon. “It’s not, it doesn’t exist…” The teenager turned to her older sister and grinned manically. “It’s all in your head, your dreaming, that’s all.” “I’m not dreaming, I’ll pinch myself and show you!” Shouted the other woman, she pinched her arm harshly. Jolting upright Ayla breathed heavily and remembered her dream in vivid details. She checked her arm and, sure enough, there was a small bruise on her arm. When she looked up a pair of eyes, one blue and one green, met her gaze and a dangerously psychotic glint gleamed in them. “I told you, you’ve been dreaming.” Her sister stated, before she turned on her heel and walked out the door clicking shut behind her… © 2011 Xia MurphyAuthor's Note
