To My FatherA Poem by MythYet another sonnet.
Must a man die before he's truly dead?
Or is death a relative state of mind? If you were absent from a someone's head- Could their small world have left you far behind? And if you find yourself alone in life, Your heart aching for that someone now gone, If your world is now lacking hope and strife You might as well be buried in the lawn. And if a father's daughter will not say A word to him nor to his empty soul, Then if in her world, for him, there's no way He might as well be dead if all alone. You might as well be dead, old man, to me For in my world, there is no room for thee. © 2011 MythAuthor's Note
