Sunlit Shadow

Sunlit Shadow

A Poem by Myth
"

It occurred to me as I watched the sunset. I'm such a bloody romantic sometimes.

"

Shadowed trees

And shadowed leaves.

Blackness where

Once there was detail.

Sunset skies

Light up the shadows

And make it only too clear

Just how much we’re missing.

Reality?

Illusion?

Some fantasy between?

Invisible in the light

The trees are blacker

Than the night to come,

And the sun

Too bright for stars-

How can you see

The world

When the sun

Overshadows it all?

Isn’t there

More to see?

Isn’t there

More to be?

And isn’t there

A star

Just waiting for me?

This was a play on words that I found appealing, especially the first two stanzas. Good job.

Interesting concept. There is so much that our mortal eyes and minds miss, yet how are we to know for sure what it is?
