Betrayer, or betrayed?

Betrayer, or betrayed?

A Poem by Myth
"

About the same person to whom Sometimes is addressed.

"
A hunch, a hunch,
Of lies.

A call, a call,
To find out the truth.

Who to trust?
Surely not you.

After all,
You've lied to me
Before.

But only because
You felt you had to.

I know you felt alone.

I know you feel that way
Now.

But I won't let you
Drag a loved one
Down with you.

If it was me,
I wouldn't question-
But I won't let you
Take him with you.

He is innocent,
A sweet soul,
Trying to help another
In need.

But are you in need?
Therein lies the question.

Truth?
Or lies?

Pain?
Or fabrication?

Betrayed?
Or betrayer?

I trust you with my life.

But do I trust you with your own?

If I am wrong,
I am the betrayer,
For having doubted you
At all.

But if I am right...

If I am right,
I am the
Betrayed.
