Longing

Longing

A Poem by Mysty Rayn

Needing a shoulder to cry on

Looking for arms to hold me

Scanning for eyes to look into

Hands to wipe away these tears

Fingers to weave in to mine

A chest to lay my head on

Vulnerable to loneliness

Too aware of my pain

Longing to be loved

Knowing you are loved is what makes the yearning less heavy. Knowing you will have it as you want it in time is what makes you feel good inside to imagine that hold. Need to believe you are loved to feel the comfort of the imagined embrace. It will be there in your heart. This write is short and says what we all have felt at some point in our lives. Blessings!

Very tender and open. Sweet poem from a sweet heart I think.

It is the strangest effect, this diehard pulp emotion we all feel. I know why mothers are usually bonded with their babies (at least till they make that Edenic intimacy impossible!).

The mystic Gurdjieff used to say "Practice loving animals. They respond better." Indeed. I can't tell you how many times an exquisite sharing has been mechanically destroyed by an almost casual narcissism. One hopes it isn't oneself, but blaming is useless.

I suppose that's why one develops an austere cognitive streak to blend with a romantic heart. One has to remain vulnerable to grow emotionally, but one also has to deal w/the ordinary insanity of humans (including one's unconscious tendencies) one might want to share with.

This tender longing you present, so achingly true of us all, so deceptively simple, requires such permeative insight to maintain! Integrity is self-observation to the point of greater affective consistency.

Thanks for the soul beauty of this poem.

It is human nature to need to feel special in someone's heart and those that say they don't only lie to themselves or are playing tough... I think it takes a stronger person to admit they need someone... I admire you for being strong enough to show your emotions.

I understand this so well. While I'd never want to be entirely dependent on somebody, I sometimes feel that longing too. This is short but sweet and written very well.

I hear the lonely in your words. It will be better. It will.

This is such an emotion filled poem... Heartbroken and sad and lonely. The longing of as the old saying goes... to have and to hold. A beautiful piece written that portrays to the reader the emotions within the heart..

Very well inked!
