Acceptance

Acceptance

A Poem by Mysty Rayn

Rearranging my life to fit you

Tossing my beliefs aside to make you smile

Throwing my morals out for you acceptance

Losing myself

I have become you

Missing the woman I once was

The strength I once portrayed

Love that once radiated

Compassion that once engulfed my soul

Give me back

Let go of that woman

You will no longer compromise who I am

I will no longer allow it

Give me back

Well said! Classic dilemma of the too-giving loving woman.

A man worth a damn understands what the pros and cons of relative beliefs and ethics are, so if there are any changes from either the man or the woman, it isn't the baby tossed out with the bathwater kind of thing. It's an examination of everything, with love and incisive integrity. I don't know of any courses in universally reliable incisive integrity in the realms of academic and religious simulacra, do you? ;-)

Allow me to be so bold: This perfect stranger declares you "taken back" and her own delightful woman, amen. ;-)

to establish and maintain a relationship each person must compromise certain things...
but to lose oneself and all one's personality could ultimately prove disastrous...
either that one becomes co-dependent on the other person...
or they become someone they are not. great idea and poem.
