Great metaphor with this, leaving our colors on someones life and not always to perfection, there are no perfect artists, and although we can't remove permenant paint, we can always do a better job the next time, of being more careful how we present our colors to others. This is a great piece Mysty.

Wonderfully stated, we must take our time in painting the masterpiece of our lives make sure we add the right colors and the brush strokes go in the right direction for once painted it can't be undone. A beautiful metaphor for our lives and the decisions we must face.
A beautiful metaphoric poem for life. I think that painting is a wonderful analogy for life, because, at the beginning of a painting, we often have an idea of what we want it to look like. However, it rarely turns out exactly the way we wanted it to. And, also like life, we sometimes change our concept based on how things are going in the piece so far. It'll end up differently, but still carry on hints of the original idea. Life is much the same.
I also really liked these lines:
"Splattering paint/on the canvas/of other lives"
This is a fantastic analogy as well. Sometimes those splatters actually improve how the other painting looks, and sometimes it's just more work to erase it.
I think you've created a beautiful, effective poem here with a truly powerful message. The ending is wonderful and shows the importance of patience. Bravo! :D
