Ode to My Best Friend

When I need a shoulder

you offer two

 

If I’m stumbling in the fog

you pull me through

 

If I should fall to the ground

you  help me to stand

 

Should I get in a bind

you find a plan

 

Whenever I frown

you encourage me to smile

 

If my heart gets too heavy

you help carry it for awhile

 

Should I share a secret

you keep it near

 

Each time I cry

you share my tears

 

You taught me love

one I’ve never known

 

You’ve shown me light

together we have grown

 

I could not ask

for a more perfect you

 

Without you

I don’t know what I’d do

Awe, this is truly beautiful and so full of love and admiration for your friend. I, too have a friend that is all of those things. We have been best friends for 35 years since we were 5 years old. I wish that I'd have been able to choose those words to her. I know your friend loved this....so did I!
