Armor Shining

Armor Shining

A Poem by Mysty Rayn

I never said it

I didn't know how

Too many times

I've been let down

So there you stood

Armor shining

Offering love

I kept declining

My sorry too late

My pleas no good

I would've let you love me

If only I could

Forgive me please

I was wrong

But everyone knows

You waited too long

yes, but, doesn't every woman dream of her 'knight in shining armor' even if she doesn't admit it, or speak of it except in poems. i think so, since we were little girls reading stories of Cinderella & Snow White.

Armor may be dinged, dented, bruised ... but it can still can shine so bright crafted with love.

tis true, though, love endures all time & space....there is no thing as 'waiting to long'. true love waits forever. true love is infinite...

Maybe it was too long, maybe not....
And I'm sure there are other knights out there.

its so nice and dreamy that we always dream of some one who will come some time now or later ,we do believe, suddenly he is there ,its funny when we expect something it hardly come true,it usually comes when least expected, we always drawn in our mind a dreamy picture of some one we will fall right to him,i would wait no matter how much ,i know i have faith ,i have dreams, and i know dreams may come true,oh if you just believed, lovely work as ever

It is never too late, as long as you draw breath...........that Knight may come again to take it away. You have expressed yourself with a sadness in your words. Keep the faith Mysty.

I have to agree that we all do dream of that knight in shining armor to some extent. Most times though - it is when we stop looking that true love finds us; unsuspecting, and almost never what we expected or who we expected. Dreams are good things; the trick is not to let them keep you from the reality of love. an excellent write :-)

Very sad. It really from a different perspective than the usual poem, which is usually from the point of view of the person rejected and not the person who rejected. I really like that. I also like how your subject really plays against the title and the structure of the poem. The title speaks of fairy tales and the clearly rhymed structured holds that, but the poem is how the person was too jaded to believe in this figurative knight in shining armor, because of the past experiences. We see how much those experiences have changed her, even though we don't know exactly what happened.

It 's hard when someone with true intentions comes along and loves you but the past won't let you give in to them no matter how much you want it... your words are powerful and to the point.

now here's a situation not many ever shine a light on, from this perspective... well stated and to the point!

Faerie Blessings!

No such thing as too long for the one who truly loves. Time doesn't matter at all when you know who you wait for. I'm a perfect example. Trust me. With love waiting for you with arms that will not tire holding out for you to come into them..Geez..it's worth it for both! Perfection doesn't matter. Nothing does! Not when two can be saved for each other and heal together. Trust in a miracle. Give it a chance. Blessings!

Poignant and to the point. Sometimes we just have to jump in, feet first, or the opportunity slips through our fingers. The old saying, 'faint heart never won fair maiden' is reversed in this case. A lesson learned. From that we progress to - 'it is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.' In future, seize the moment; (and don't try to blame him for waiting too long next time). :-)
David.
