Job Interview

Job Interview

A Poem by Mysty Rayn

I walked in with a smile on my face

I could already tell I was out of place

The one and only female in a room full of men

Being stared at waiting for the interview to begin

Trying to stay calm with my nerves getting shaky

The manager came out acting kind of flaky

He had a goofy laugh that was as fake as his smile

Please let this be over in just a little while

He took me in his office old and dusty

All his plaques were starting to get rusty

As I sat down a tale he began to sing

When I glanced down he removed his wedding ring

What a pig I thought as he kept telling tales

So I fed him a smile putting more wind in his sails

He leaned over his desk and let his eyes glance

He cared more about the child he kept zipped in his pants

He said I looked sexy and I could really sell

As he pushed a file off his desk pretending it fell

I left it lay as if I had not seen a thing

Praying for God to make my phone ring

He made promises of cash in my pocket

And maybe evenings with rides on his rocket

He claimed his company was the best to be found

I said my thank you and decided to look around

Wow. I am glad you entered this in my contest. This is really good. I like how you took something that probably happens alot by the sick pigs out there, and made it into something that is a) unique, and comical but b) still gets the point across.
Good job on this.

What a cute, simple and funny way to say men can be pigs (which they can). I thoroughly enjoyed this, and will recommend a friend of mine to read it. She went through this exact thing a little while ago!

why i knew all the way the boss will harass you in his room, does your words look as if you are vulnerable ,or its just bad luck ,oh the brute ,how can they play on feeling of people just because they happened to be somewhat lucky ,how i hate men or women who use their position to get to what they want, you know i could almost see you sitting there and he trying all ways to get to you ,you know with some dialogue you could turn this into a very nice story ,i am sure you could ,lovely write as always

Very cute and amusing. What a clever and pleasant way to put this down on paper and get it off your chest!

EEK! Jerk! I would have guffawed the most god-awful laugh as loud as I could to shock the hell out of him for making that comment. Seriously, what kind of man shows his scales so fast?---The worst kind! Better to find out sooner than later!
I've met jerks lke this...geez. Good you point it out in this.
Really true...they exist!

i like the flow of your prose. often times simple but spoken very naturally. this character sounds a lot like the guy that sold me my car a couple months ago. do not lose heart however, not all men are swine. i do what i can to incite chivalry when possible. have a lovely day!

thanx for commenting on not for wanting! i was gonna work on my book friday when i got home at midnight and decided that i felt an itch to write and that's what fell out. it's kinda random, but i like it as a lil jingle.

Cute. You showed how men could be such pigs, trying to use this poor girl's need for a job to fill his lustful cravings.

excellently written.

Very well written poem. There are too many fools like him out there. You made a light-hearted poem out of a touchy situation, good work. Debileah
