Until Then

Until Then

A Poem by Mysty Rayn

As I sit and ponder where we went wrong

My nights too short my days too long

I think of how we used to be

A family branching from our tree

Now a home of silent chill

We sedate out problems with a pill

Ignore each other as we pass

Pretending this charade will last

Resentment building with each remark

Our hearts decaying and growing dark

Hoping one day one of us will go

Until then, this is all we know

I do not know how these words came to you.
The description is so excellent that one can feel the emotions in your words. It was quite difficult to go through this.

There are two many relationships that take off so smoothly that we develop high expectations from the future but not too many of them survive, let alone floursih. It is strange how indifferent we become to those who at one point of time might have meant the world to us.

Outstanding poem. Makes one think.

Well done, nice tone and pacing, though I am not a big fan of poems that rhyme, this is dead on!

It reminds me of the way my parents were for the last few years of their lives... I don't know whether to wish they had divorced ten years before they decided, or not. If they had my youngest sister wouldn't be here. But they would be. I don't know. Again, well written piece.

I have been reading this poem and several others. You have talent, that is certain. With "Until Then" particularly, you have employed a very structured form which in my opinion is difficult to accomplish and still have a nice flow. You have succeeded doing this.
